Strawbale Greenhouse Construction
Help us build a proto-type strawbale greenhouse at the Purple Oasis Gardens and learn how this construction method can:
• Extend the growing season;
• Utilize passive solar design to maximize heat from the sun;
• Incorporate passive cooling techniques for summer cooling;
• Maximize energy efficiency and the use of economical, biodegradable building materials
• Create new businesses in natural construction and local material harvesting;
• Grow and strengthen our communities;
• Facilitate community art projects!
This is a big part of the future of local food here.
